Zero tolerance for pornography, sexually explicit material, or content designed to sexually arouse. This is a platform-wide policy with no exceptions for "artistic merit" or "educational purposes" in the sexual content domain.
Criticize ideas, not people. You may disagree vehemently with any position, but you may not attack, demean, or harass individuals. The key distinction: "That argument is stupid" is permitted; "You are stupid" is not.
Content must be authentic and posted by genuine participants. This community does not tolerate spam, manipulation, or AI-generated content disguised as human contribution. Authenticity is foundational to meaningful discourse.
Content that violates applicable law is prohibited. This includes content that is illegal in the United States as well as content facilitating serious crimes regardless of jurisdiction.
Protect people's privacy. Don't share personal information that could be used to identify, locate, or harass someone in the real world.
Participate with genuine intent to understand and discuss. Bad faith engagement degrades discourse for everyone and wastes participants' time.
Do not weaponize voting, reporting, blocking, or other platform mechanics to harass users or suppress lawful, charter-compliant speech.
Celebrating, endorsing, or making light of real-world violence against individuals is strictly prohibited, regardless of who the victim is or how unpopular they may be. This is not a viewpoint issue; it is a fundamental boundary that protects the legitimacy of political discourse itself.
Kindness doesn't mean agreement or softening every statement. You can disagree strongly, even bluntly, while remaining kind. What we prohibit is cruelty: taking pleasure in others' discomfort or deliberately causing distress.
Even if someone's tone is off-putting, engage with their actual argument if you engage at all. If you can't engage with the substance, don't reply. Tone policing derails discussions and lets weak arguments hide behind complaints about delivery.
If you don't like a topic or viewpoint, scroll past or use block/mute features. Downvotes are for content that violates guidelines or genuinely lacks quality, not content you disagree with. Let others enjoy things.
Reports and blocks are safety tools, not debate tactics or social weapons. Use them to protect yourself from genuine harm, not to punish people for disagreeing with you.
Cross-community participation is welcome, but coordinated invasions designed to overwhelm a community's governance, voting, or discussion norms are not. Join communities because you're genuinely interested, not to conquer them.
